Back when I was in Loveland, Colorado working with a home automation company there, I would head out at the end of the day there was always this guy in the parking lot performing some of the most unbelievable acrobatics with his bike. And I mean mind blowing stuff… what I imagine Cirque du Soleil would look like if they performed entirely on custom BMX bikes. We got to know one another since I would see James at the same time every day and just watch him practice for while and he invited me to photograph some of the shows he would be at down in Denver at the Pepsi Center.
So just for fun I offered to create a logo for him to help out in his professional endeavors and just generally marketing himself with a little more polish. Something modern and finished, that I felt captured the chaos and alchemy of his performances.
Its been great to get to witness the growth in his career and simply to watch him perform is truly awe inspiring… He’s a really personable, gregarious guy and I continue to wish him all the best of luck with sponsors and competitions! Not that he needs it since he regularly placing in the top tens at nationals.
