The California Municipal Revenue and Tax Association’s new website was yet another excellent design created with long-time collaborators, Smith Moore & Associates, who provided the client liaison, desired architectural direction and content generation, as is their wont on the multiple sites we’ve tag teamed.
A new wrinkle in this project was the adoption of YourMembership.com as the CMS. So the design proceeded within the strictures of their template system and the challenge would be to mask the templated nature of the site to the degree possible so as not to be overly bound by patterns and layouts that could make the design feel anything less than unique and tailored to the client needs.
As usual, I was the designer, art director and content consultant, and delivered throughly modern redesigns for both the website and new logo for CMRTA, presenting a more clean, authoritative and efficient presentation of their mission and content. And, as has become usual with many association websites, this was a complete redesign from the architecture up, repurposing and surfacing content to drive newly focused goals for membership awareness of activities and the deep well of available resources.
