The California Association of Joint Powers Authority’s new website was developed working with long-time collaborative agency, Smith Moore & Associates who provided the client liaison, essential structural guidance and content corralling services as has become the strategy with the many sites I’ve worked on with them.
I played my usual role was as designer, art director and content consultant, to deliver a throughly modern design to present a polished and competent voice for an association with the honorable task of helping smaller public agencies pool their insurance in order to lower premiums and reduce taxpayer burden. As with many association websites, this was a total overhaul of a very deep and content rich website. A strict hierarchy was imposed on the content presentation, as well as the introduction of large colorful imagery to help bring the content to life.
I have to be honest, I can’t always link to client sites that have been taken in house as the design sometimes suffer. Happily, that is certainly not the case with CAJPA. They, and Smith Moore & Associates, have proven extremely capable stewards of the brand and the cleanliness and thus intended functionality of the design of the site. Its been my experience that often times just such a dramatic overhaul and the resultant pride that comes from such a positive result of a huge undertaking is what is needed to re-ignite a given organization’s interest in their web presence. The site is a real testament to that pride. Oh, and it looks good too…
